LMASP This Week: Visioning & Parol Making

Hey students!

Hope you had a restful and enjoyable Thanksgiving break. Welcome back to school and to Monday's with LMASP!

LMASP in 2012 - we want to hear from you

Do you have ideas on workshop topics, discussion topics, class activities, field trips, college trips, and guest speakers next year? Can these ideas further develop our focus on Filipino-American history, identity and culture? Bring your ideas to today's meeting so we can envision a more relevant LMASP for current and future students at Edison High School. This week will be a super chill discussion where we listen to your ideas.

Parol making time approaches

Also, this coming December we will be devoting our two weeks before winter break to Filipino cultural crafts with this year's Parol workshops. A Parol (pah-rrohl) is a star-shaped lantern made from a bamboo frame and decorated with colorful Japanese paper (tissue paper) or Capis (shell). We invite past, present and first-time students to LMASP to enjoy in this year's Filipino cultural festivities.

Interested? Click here to register for this workshop by Dec. 4

Hope to see you all at today's meeting! Feel free to invite new faces. Tis the season to share LMASP on facebook and twitter!
